wow vrx3 looks very good, Same boat as me pretty much also. Im a college kid and daily drive the car in summer. I might have to look into that. Everytime I hear of any vengence cam I only hear good things, its just not alot of people I hear from because not alot have the cams

quoted many times about reverses, they dont make the peak numbers that others do, but make alotta useable power under the curve

I know this is contoversial but almost ANY standard Comp and almost all custom grinds will work well for your car. Except for the Donky Dick cams they will all be good for DD's. However they will all have different driving characteristics and the fuel usage will vary.
Fraser at ls1speed specced mine for me and it works very well actually outperforming some of the bigger sticks around. It's on 114 but has some chop to it having a 112 icl .
If you have a good intake and a good set of pipes a cam like the one in my sig will work well. The Tsp 220's also are a great cam that produce loads of mid range power. But hey waving a 220 doesn't really make em take notice does it.
I suspect the OP doesn't really know what he wants maybe it's a pro stock sounding car to do the shopping in who knows.

228R 114lsa i went with that in my Vette w/ stock Z06 heads and bolt ons and made 391rwhp/383rwtq Check the below vid of pulls with the TSP 228R. LOVE the cam though. Good to DD if needed and is tame until you get on it haha~Cole~

Plus why limit yourself to being cam only or set yourself up to where you really need to do a cam change later if you go with ported heads? I haven't seen where reverse splits do real well with ported heads. Have you?

It depends on what you want to with the car if you wanted a 224R I would just get a LS6 cam to be honest. I like the 228R for many reason. Like everyone has stated in the forum already about the good torque curve and everything. Plus for me I have an A4 and the cam kicks in at 1600RPMS. Like everyone has already said how do you want the car to idle I personally want the car to sound like a race car so I want a 112 LSA. good luck with your decsion both are good cams

I dont want the car for track usage and stuff alot, I just wanna throw headers intake and cam on it for now. If years down the road come by..first off gas would prob be like $10 a gallon so I wont be driving much anyways but at that time ill make my mind up what to do afterwards aha

Tell ya this,
pair of 2005 GTO M6 headers/catback
228/228 .588/.588 113+x = 422rwhp/410tq (speed inc. SI4)
239/243 .649/.656 113+0 = 430rwhp/398tq (no name)
the smaller SI4 cam completely pile drived the donky dick cam under the curve, had 20rwtq everywhere under the curve. The larger cam simply gave more usable RPM, peaked at 6800rpm.
