Is your car in good shape? The 98 is priced about right little on the high side. But the question is how much do you think your car is worth?

He says he's having financial trouble, talk him down because 9,800 is a little bit much for that mileage and being a 98.

yea thats what i thought with the mileage, dont get me wrong the car looks great, but im thinkin around 9000 max on it, my car is in great shape, i would be lookin to get a min of 5 g's outta it, won a local show outta 20 other cars so, by no means is my car a 'clunker' or w.e they call em these days lol

off of what your saying ( Not having ever seen your car ) I would offer him 3,750+your car and see what he says. He will be hesitant, but if hes hurtin for cash he will take it. Good luck...

I just paid $10K for my 98 Z but it only had 388XX miles on it. So I would say it's a little high. Offer less cash and see if he bites.

(BTW, mine is fully loaded w/leather, A4. Interior and exterior are in excellent shape and mine is a rare color - only 1 of 95, so while $10K was little high for mine, I feel it was justified).

the 02 camry deal sounds like a line, I think he was trying to guilt you into making his deal. I think if he was hard up for money he would have taken the camry ( especially with gas prices being where they are ) and the 5k and walked. I would tell him 4k or take the other offer... But then agian, that easy for me to say as I know how it is car shopping and finding one you like...

Well... If you want the car and can swing the 5K so why the hell not pay him that and do it already? It would still not be a terrible deal. As long as the SS is in good shape and checks out okay in person, of course.

I'm sure that Camry deal is just him bluffing.

I've seen you shopping for so damn long here that it's not even funny anymore. Seriously.

That seems a high to me, I bought my 98 Formula with pretty much all the options except T-Tops and Leather with 100K for Less than 5500. The paint on my car is almost flawless for its age, only a small chip in the rear wing. It also had new 342 gears in it and two brand new tires and a new battery. I know thats an SS, but its still to expensive.
