Default Need help massaging floorboard panel

I am running Borla XR1 mufflers off of each header collector. Passenger side fits beautifully. Drivers side not so much... I am wanting to "push up" or make a recess in the drivers side floorboard for the top of the muffler casing to fit in to however I don't want to just get a hammer out and **** up my floorboards. I just need to slightly massage it upwards with like a half moon shape to conform to the outside casing of the muffler. Here's a few pictures to show what I'm saying. I just want some ideas on how I can still make this look somewhat factory. I know that no one will ever see it and it really doesn't matter, I've just never fallen into the philosophy of taking a hammer to parts of my car to make things fit.... Anyways, here ya go...
