The difference is bypass valves in the oil filters, the flow capacities, the place of manufacture, the actual manufacturer. A car is not like another car and a filter is not just a filter.

I like the K&N oil filter, its like 12 bucks but it has a 1" nut on the bottom, the extra cost is worth the ease of removal for me

No, I don't think it's over kill. I beat the hell out of my car on a weekly basis and I'd rather be safe than sorry. What's an $50 when it comes to my baby?

I rather run conventional oil and change it every 2k miles and the fact that my oil disappears before I can make it to 3k and beyond.

WIX is the best oil filter but it is also like a 20 dollar oil filter.


WTF I just looked it up online and they are 8.20... WTF??? I have been getting ripped off.

Of coarse there is different manufactures. And the bypass valves are almost exactly the same. They may be different shaped and sizes but everything filters and flows the same.

yeah, that guy selling oil and filters out of the back of his van is a jerk. but seriously, where do you buy them for 20 dollars?
