So I'm going to change the oil...
And looking in Autozone, I was going to buy exactly what the guy who owned the car before me bought, but I couldn't find the same oil filter, so what oil filter should I get (aka best)?
Also, he put in 10w30 Synth Penzoil, should I use the same or is their something better (or different weight) I can/should switch to? Also how much should I buy?
I plan to change the oil and wash wax tomorrow.
EDIT: And also, how much do plugs and wires typically run? Since I need to change those sometime next week...

don't worry as much about the oil filter as the oil. I've heard the penzoil syn is good stuff. I use GC 0-30 (Made in Germany) and it's great. You can switch as long as you go to another good oil but I'd stay with the penzoil if you can.

I run Royal Purple 10w40 just to be safe and keep the motor fresh. Change it every 1500-2000 miles. I just got it yesterday for $4.96 a quart. I use a Mobil one oil filter those usually run under 10 bucks. Gotta use the good stuff!

lol bit overkill isnt it? unless its a drag car I'd still go till 3000. I change out the oil in my 406 every 50-100 miles or so, but thats because the car usually only goes 1/8 mile or so at a time

If you're not doing anything too fancy, just go buy the Synthetic of your choice at Wally World. I think I saw a 5.5 quart of Valvoline Synthetic the other day for $18. That's just handy, since our LS1 takes 5.5 quarts.
There's not a huge price difference in filters. I am more than happy to get either of the Mobil-1 filters that fit (107 or 206 I think). The 206 is the truck filter, is a little longer, & holds about an extra .25 quarts (5.75 total).

extreme overkill...get a good filter and you can run it longer
I run mine 7-8000 miles and everything inside still looks perfect, we even use the used oil to top off the lawn mower

they're "ok" but for the same price you can get a MUCH better filter
if you get really good oil then there's more of an issue with it being dirty than breaking down
plus there was something about the frams being more prone to failure within the filter, can't remember what exactly
