Default whats the power difference between a 98 ls1 to a 02 ls1

People say that the 02's have redesigned exhaust manifolds and the ls6 intake manifold. What else do they have? How much more power do they make over the earlier ls1 design?

They're only rated at 5 more HP...... 305 for '98-'00, 310 for '01-'02. Not really much of a difference. I wouldn't not buy a pre -01 for it.

better exhaust manifolds, doesn't mean anything if you are going to headers, something to think about if you are staying stock-

No EGR- with the LS6 manifold- the truck cam has so much overlap no EGR needed-

Different part numbers for injectors, but the same flow

about a quarter of the '01 and '02's got the LS6 block, with better breathing between bays- no other supporting hardware though- LS1 cam and heads-

Factory rated at 310, but I think GM under-rated them all, citing more restrictive exhaust and intake- easily fixed, though....

the early ones had a bigger cam, and the 01-02 had the ls6 intake, so it pretty much equals out, if you have the early cam and the ls6 intake then they make slightly more, but its not a big differance either way. a few common mods and they all wake up..........
