I believe your car does have a small cam in it. You can hear a slight lope in the vid when you go around to the back of the car. It just may be on a real conservative tune. Congrats on the buy, nice car.

Thanks. By conservative, does that also mean "reliable"? Because that's what the previous owner said he tuned it for, reliability. Do you think I would need another tune if I want to squeeze a little bit more miles per a gallon? Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting to get Honda-like mileage, and that's not what I bought the car for, but I keep reading stuff on here about 6speeds modded or stock getting between 25-30 on the highway... and I only got 20mpg on the way back home from Alabma on 93 octane gas and crusing in 6th as much as possible between 70-80mph.

i'd say a RETUNE would be in order. It does sound to have a Cam. Don't let these guys get ya down. Mine made 391 with full bolt ons and a 228R cam(mild to moderate i guess) it lopes a little harder then that but yeah it sure sounds to have a lope. Nice car, i'd say lose that grille and get an SLP

She's a crazy bitch (buckcherry anyone?) but I love her to death (for now). Just spent $210 on getting the driver's side window motor replaced today. I really need to start getting my feet wet and tearing this car apart and doing my own work... but it's too nice of a car I don't want to risk messing it up!

yea, its more fulfilling if you do it your self, but let me tell ya, if you've never done it before, replacing a window motor is a bitch

No ****!!!

Paying $210 for replacing a window motor is just absolutely crazy!!! New motor w/lifetime warranty costs about 50 bucks @ AutoZone and there are very detailed instructions how to change it posted in many places.

We have all been noobs in wrenching, but you gotta start somewhere.

Damn... I didn't know I got ripped off THAT badly. Well, my passenger side is a little slow, so perhaps I'll get to replacing that on my own when it goes out.

Yes, mechanics need to make money, no question about that. But 150 bucks for job that is very easy to do yourself? No thanks. I'll pocket the difference myself.

And have actually done it, too.

but thats still not a bad price for labor... he didnt get ripped off, but if he can do it himself he should next time. also they usually mark up prices for parts as well, would have likely gotten it cheaper if he had taken the part to them, rather than have them order it.

I didn't say he got ripped off. He said it himself. I was just pointing out that had he bought the motor and changed it himself, he could have saved $150, or so.

That's all.
