Default How much can a stock 6.0 bottom end take?

Just what the title says. What kind of abuse have these stock 5.3's and 6.0 rotating assemblies taken? Is 500-600 hp realistic?

yes, much easier with the 6.0, fairly easily with a good head/cam combo and all supporting mods

Heads/cam/supporting mods will get you the HP but what the OP was asking was will the stock bottom end take the abuse?

The crank is good to 800-900hp. The rods are the same in the 5.3, 5.7, 6.0 & LS2. With good rod bolts, guys are throwing 500-600rwhp at them and spinning to 7k rpm. The stock hyper pistons will be fine unless you spray or boost too much. I'm building a 370ci this winter with stock crank, stock rods w/arp bolts & forged pistons......planning on 475-500rwhp, spraying my way to 650rwhp and spinning it to 7k rpm......not worried about the internals one bit.

IMO I would never have factory rods around 650rwhp and spin them 7k. I rather go the extra 450-600$ and get some Scat or Compstar rods knowing that they wont break under 650rwhp if built right.
Nitrous puts a lot of stress on engines.

And as for the crank, i would throw 1000rwhp at it all day and not worry.
There are guys in the FI section running 9 seccond, MAYBE 8 seccond 1/4mi on the factory crank. I heard it starts to flex around 1100rwhp.

Im looking at building a carb'd 6.0 with a set of L92's and a mild cam and maybe a 100hp shot of N2o. I just need to find a complete 6.0 with low mileage. Will be in an s10 also.

I guess I should clarify.....my rev limiter will be at 7k and shifting at 6800. I'm using stock LS2 rods with ARP bolts---they are perfectly capable of handling that kind of power. Plenty of board sponsors are running 600-700+rwhp with them. Now if I were doing an all-out built motor, I agree w/you totally......but this is a budget 370 (<$3k intake to pan) with a little 150 shot for the track, $600 rods aren't necessary.

Most of the time nitrous doesn't hurt engines, poor tuning does.

I have made 1089rwhp on my stock 6.0 crank. My times and et's are in my sig. Will be pushing more power in the next couple of week's.
Crank is not a issue. Just get a set of H-beam rods and forged pistons and give it hell!!

Also, im having trouble finding a low mileage 6.0 to build. I check ebay all the time but they all have higher mileage or are way overpriced. Where is a good place to find 6 liters?
