Whats the ZR1 going to run in the 1/4 mile?

I agree.. Not too many people are going to want to cage their $100,000 car.. But there are some racers out there that probibly will do it.
If it were me, I wouldnt..
I'd just go there to work on launches.. and then let off @ the 1/8... And then if I get a really good launch.. Keep the good run going, and then just exit after the run because they would probibly kick me out.
You could always go 18.0 @ 130 .. lol.
Inch up after the start... wait a few seconds, and then go if you just feel like running for fun.

No tech at my track! They can run into the negatives all day long with no cage.

Theres a track by me that lets it slide but im not gonna say what track it is because I dont need to get them in trouble. Lets just say I have seen a hand full of cars running deep 10's high 9's without a cage there. If they run it at this track they dont have anything to worry about. I ran a 10.80 in my car without getting booted or talked to.

Well considering I am a tech Inspector myself I'll answer that question. The answer, quite frankly, is yes, and no. No only because it doesn't need a roll cage but a roll bar. Even if it were not raced in a competition series it would still fall under Pure Stock. However, the ET limit for a roll bar (5 point) is still 11.50, the same as in competition. No NHRA sanctioned track is allowed to lower the limit...legally. they can only make it higher if they wish.
Now on the Viper issue. Up until January of this year the ET limit for a convertable car was 13.50 without a roll bar. However, now, if the car falls under the Pure Stock category, the limit is the same as a hard top car at 11.50. So until recently, anyone who wanted to run a Viper at a NHRA track was SOL.
Now as for my guess on the ET I'd say low 10's, traction limited. I have personally witnessed a 10 second pass at my track in a stock C6 Z06 with DR's, stock tires I believe he hit an 11.0-11.1. Both the driver and I are very aware of Ranger's times. He thinks he has the second fastest stock 1/4 mile time. His Z06 has since been kicked out becuase he has run under the limit too many times. However, this same guy is considering getting a ZR1 in the near future. So maybe soon enough I'll be able to tell you exactly what they are capable of.

I'm going to say mid to low 10 for sure. The ZR1 rated at 11 flat... So I don't think mid to low 10s would be hard with DRs... if the C6 Z06 was rated at 11.7... but hit 10s ... I'm sure Ranger can do it!

Gotta be low 10s with a Ranger-caliber driver. The record for a stock Z06 on runflats is 10.98@128.90. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/05/1...-on-run-flats/
With 130 more hp I'm sure the will be lots of stock ZR1s in the high 10s and low 10s on drag radials. Imagine a simple pulley change thrown in
