weight reduction without being noticed??

I have come to the conclusion. Either leave it plush (all the amenities of a street car and app. 3600# race weight) or gut it. Going 1/2 *** doesn't help a whole lot, especially on the street.

K Member and A arms will save you the most weight, around 100lbs. Removing the AC saves alot of weight also, the compressor/mount is one heavy bitch along with the other lines(55lbs). i wouldn't recommend removing the heater core if it's going to be used on the street because you lose your windshield defrost. Replacing the carpet with the aftermarket stuff will net you a 40lbs loss. if your looking for major weight loss, there isn't a way around taking away some accessories.
like a couple others have said, lightweight wheels will also work. and those who said the windshield washer fluid (6 lb's)... draw up a formula & calculate that in a quarter mile time, it won't really help. instead, hit the gym and lose 6 lbs if that's the case.

one thing that Everyone here has overlooked is the location of the weight you are removing. Its preferable to remove anything you can from the nose of the car or move any weight that can't be eliminated to the rear of the car. taking weight from the front allows the nose to come up easier and better weight transfer which equates to improved 60' times and you would be that much closer to getting a gold plated man card for a wheels up launch!

A gallon of washer bottle water weighs a little over 8 pounds, not 6.
Pretty sure stock sway bars are hollow.
Get under the car and cut the ends off all bolts that are too long.
If you have a certified scale like I do you'll see how all this little **** adds up.
I have my bumper supports removed, look at it this way, on impact the cover gets ripped when it gets pinched between what you hit and the support, if it's connecting your frame together one side impact is going to effect both sides. If you take it out you gain at least a foot before it hits anything solid and splits the cover. I'm talking about 10mph and under hits, anything above 25 isn't going to matter too much either way.

well said. though it seems kinda strange that replacing the carpet will net you that much.

i dont run a catback so that saves me a lot right there(open y) so i could drop all my heat shields in the back and that would help a little,im not really interested in losing my a/c i dont ever use it but its nice to have though...

I recommend relocating your battery (pray you never get a flat since the spare will be gone)
