In my Camaro, usually just put it in first. Like Exploding Dinosaurs said I've come out to go to work to find that my ebrake was frozen on, puts a damper on your morning. My beater car though I always pull the ebrake in addition to putting it in gear because its popped out of 1st before and I'd just as soon not risk it.

E-brake. I've heard(and I don't really believe it) that if you just leave it in gear and someone hits your car, it can bust the tranny from the force. I do leave it in gear with the e-brake if the hill is steep enough.

I use both the ebrake and leave it in gear every time I park. Its a habit, I don't even notice myself doing it.

Same here, I always pull the e-brake no matter where I'm parked, habit I guess.

On topic when I do drive a stick shift I pull the E-brake and leave it in first.

When i first got the car i did just the ebrake, then i realized that sucked when it rolled down my non-steep driveway into the tounge of a trailer. So I did both everytime after that untill i got the 9" and it was shortened to where the ebrake wont work so now i usually leave it in 1st. No big hills around here to worry about and 1st does just fine.

just in gear in south florida cause there are no hills lol It would take quite an incline/decline to turn the motor over.
