I always leave the parking break on when I park and if it's an incline I'll put it in gear opposite of the direction of the incline.

2nd gear only.. we have no steep inclines here, no need to chance having the ebrake lock up.

Also, if you start it in second and dump the clutch on accident, there is almost no chance it will take off in 2nd from a clutch dump. 1st can move you a ways, though.

When I lived in Colorado I did the same exact thing. Now I only leave it in first with the e-brake.

I usually just do the ebrake on an incline. Does it hurt to leave it in gear?

you leave it in gear to give you some added protection while the car is off in case your e-brake fails. It's just like on a hill when you are supposed to turn the wheels away when facing up, and towards when facing down.

You don't normally leave it in reverse on a 4th gen f-body because reverse is locked out when the car is off! Though you can put it in reverse if you force it past the lock out solenoid or leave it in reverse then shut off the car.

I personally think 2nd or 3rd is the way to go, unless it's a steep hill then 2nd is my choice. On some inclines/declines, 3rd may be enough to break compression on the springs and thus the car may move.

Both just to be safe. I had a buddy once with a Saleen Stang that had it pop out of gear while he was washing it, it rolled down his driveway and slammed into a telephone pole. Insurance totaled it!! Then bought it back for $800 off the insurance company and tripled his money by parting it out...
