Well, I gave about 9700 for my pewter z 01 model 67k miles on it. It's kinda funny though, every camaro I have ever been makes a squeaky noise from the rear end after so many miles. Mine doesn't do it yet, but i'm waiting. It has happened on like the 5 or 6 that I have been in with like 80k+ miles on it. So maybe it's just that.

Definitely not worth it man. I only payed $7k for my 01 z28 with 74k miles. The only reason I didn't talk it down much from there is the fact that the paint was absolutely perfect haha

Hey man...no matter what you buy it for, you better have the thought that you are going to dump money into it. The car is 10 years old and will need its powertrain and drivetrain looked at or rebuilt or replaced.
Just know that it will be a money pit from here on out....especially if you are going to "fix it" to street race.
I just saw a replacement 12" for 2400 bucks, but it rocks!

I paid $9500 for my 2000 with 55k bone stock which is a good deal in the Bay Area....
I think you can talk him down but I also feel you should see if there are any other cars in the area. Don't rush to buy the first F-body you find. You will find the right one if you dont force it.
I took me almost 3 months....
