I will have the 5.3 in my 2002 Silverado out of the truck next week to replace with a 6k mile engine.
The truck is my daily driver and the engine holds 42 PSI of oil pressure at idle and 60+ at full acceleration. Idles like stock with the noticeable LS tick since new. I've used Mobil 1 since new and am replacing the engine as insurance since the wife's getting the new vehicle and I have a new tranny and rear installed already.
What is a reasonable price for the complete running engine?
Would it make more sense to part out and scrap any leftovers?
Thanks guys and gals!

I would part it out since I see motors like that go for $500 and sometimes less all the time. You could get more if you parted out the heads, shortblock and accessories.

I'm not going to ship because it's not worth the time or effort and is hard to put the time aside since I have an 11 month old, a house to take care of, and my wife and I are professionals. I would deliver the engine within 45 minutes drive time. That would be around Waldorf, MD.
I posted on Craigslist and a local forum and have a hit. They hopefully will show up, check everything, and see how strong it runs.
