Default Value of 104k mile 5.3?

I will have the 5.3 in my 2002 Silverado out of the truck next week to replace with a 6k mile engine.

The truck is my daily driver and the engine holds 42 PSI of oil pressure at idle and 60+ at full acceleration. Idles like stock with the noticeable LS tick since new. I've used Mobil 1 since new and am replacing the engine as insurance since the wife's getting the new vehicle and I have a new tranny and rear installed already.

What is a reasonable price for the complete running engine?

Would it make more sense to part out and scrap any leftovers?

Thanks guys and gals!

Hello? Anybody want to throw out a number? It's gonna go cheap, just not sure what's fair.

I would part it out since I see motors like that go for $500 and sometimes less all the time. You could get more if you parted out the heads, shortblock and accessories.

LKQ sells engines like that with half the miles for between $225 and $400. So figure about $200.

^This is about the price that I figured. I'll advertise it for $250 and if no one bites part it out. I drive the truck to work every day so I'm confident that for around $200 someone could use this engine. I'd like to see it go to use and have some coin in my pocket.

Thanks!

..................you can get a 327 for less than $500? Damn, I'm looking for one to swap into my old '80 Firebird. I didn't realize how cheap they had gotten.

I'm not going to ship because it's not worth the time or effort and is hard to put the time aside since I have an 11 month old, a house to take care of, and my wife and I are professionals. I would deliver the engine within 45 minutes drive time. That would be around Waldorf, MD.

I posted on Craigslist and a local forum and have a hit. They hopefully will show up, check everything, and see how strong it runs.
