Default O2 sesor question

I've got an O2 sensor that is coming up with a code saying that it is slow to respond... does this mean that it's fried? or is there a way to fix this problem without buying a new one?

If you buy new ones, I'd recommend Amazon.com. I'm running the longer 'Vette o2s and saved a little over $20 bucks vs. the other I bought at Autozone. It was also at my door in just a few days.

Only drawback I see is not being able to return it if it ends up being a bad piece.

slow response doesnt mean its shot, it just means that the O2's arent getting to 600 degrees in the specified 2 minutes the computer gives it. they are still doing their job, just a little late for work.

Well, what's the reason that they can't get to the specified degree? Or what are possible causes?
