Default First mods?

Hey everyone about to buy my first mods and so i have a couple ?'s. Either TSP Longtubes and TSP True Duals or Edge 3600 Converter with B&M Trans Cooler. I want the exhaust for sound and a little better hp but the stall will make a bigger difference. I would also like to get used to driving a stalled car before i put more power to the wheels. Any thoughts? Will a stall really put me up there further? New tires are purchased and out of the way so what do ya think? Im also bone stock. Anyway your input is appreciated. And please no "go with this brand or this brand." Everything has been decided just a matter of when. A fair sized cam will be ran for a DD in the future thats why a 3600 was chosen. Opinions and reasons backing them is what im lookin for.

Thanks

I would do the exhaust right now so you are ready for the cam swap. Then do the cam and the stall at the same time.

a Stall will shave you about half a second in the 1/4, but you're gonna get to the exhaust anyways, i say do exhaust first then the stall when you do the cam, you'll NEED it then. I have a Cammed A4 with stock stall and let me tell ya, it sucks, lol. Do bolt-on's, then Cam, then Stall, then suspension. And way down the road, heads/spray. Have fun.

i would say exhaust just because i couldn't possibly imagine running the stock exhaust for more than a day. if you go stall first at least get a cut out for the time being.

I'd do the exhaust, then do the rest of the bolt ons, then the stall. If you're going to to a cam down the road pick an appropriate stall for the cam obviously. Pwn heads for a little while on stock internals...

That's how I'd do it.

Long tube headers and SLP lid are always the first mods to my cars! And it's a lot cheaper than a stall.

Also.. I just noticed you said "Edge" converter? What type of brand is that? Stick with Yank or PI Vigilante.

Lid, and if depending on money long tubes. I would suggest buying quality, nice headers, so in the future you arn't spending more money on another set. But that is more money, so depending on current goals, and your financal situation, I would consider a cut-out as a cheap alternative. Will you get the same goals out of full exhaust? No. But for 50 bucks, it's not bad. Now if money is no problem, I would go with 1 3/4 or possibly 1 7/8 stainless long tubes, and a good catback/ true dual set up.

Edge Converters are excellent converters. I suggest you look them up. Great price, long lasting, and excellent customer service.

I was planning on going with the TSP L/T's. Have heard nothing but good things about quality and numbers.

I'm with MMMZ/28, if you are trying to go faster then go with the stall. If you want minimual gains at the track at this time and just better sound go with the headers. Stall 4-5 tenths, headers maybe 1-2 tenths. (1/4 mile)

It is definatly worth the wait for the stall!!! Breath first.
I went with stall before headers and cam in my last car (98 camaro ss)
I went with a Yank ST3500 and never went with the rest of the plan.

On the 01 WS6 I decided that would not work for me this time either.
so this time around I did full exhaust and Induction. My next few mods will be pulley, cam, stall and a tune!!!

BTW the TA with Exhaust and induction runs just as good if not better than the SS with a stall

Duh, that's because Trans Ams have more power stock than an SS. Z28s are bottom of the barrel.
