I just sold my 99z w/ 135k on it a few months ago, and it ran and drove like a new one still! My buddy has a 00 SS thats got 136k on it and we did a cam swap@ 130k, and it still pulls like a train

Only thing i'd look out for is m6 cars, they usually have tweaked pushrods, that are close to being bent one good missed shift away. I cant seem to run across any cars with worn out balljoints..they seem to hold their own

Check to make sure it hasn't been in a bad accident and make sure the motor is running good.

Things to check accident wise... Might want to make sure the wheels are all lined up straigt. Stick your fingers between the back of the wheels and make sure the other side is the same distance from the fender (with the wheels straight). Check for sanding marks and other fresh paint. look for a damaged radiator support or rewelding by the wheel wells and fire wall. Make sure it drives straight at a high rate of speed and turns the same in both directions. Make sure the brakes are good.

As far as the motor and trans go. Make sure it has fresh oil and that no one dumped a thicker gear lube in there. It masks knocks. Some people put saw dust in tranys too.

Just a few things to look for off the top of my head, anyone want to add to that.

Yea check to see if the 10 bolt has oil residue on it. It is more common thean you would think, mainly from to many burnouts. Some keep on going and some will break on you-so if that looks good and dry then it "probably" wasn't beat on hard, at least not from a stand still. Also spend 100 bucks to take it to a camaro mechanic and have them diagnose everything, last thing you need to find out is that ticking sound ia A bent pushrod.

If you take it to a mechanic , take it to one you know and trust because most will say it looks fine and just take ur money

Mine is a 2000 Formula, 137,000 miles. Bought it 6 years ago. Change the oil every 3,000 miles. Changed the waterpump at 70,000 miles. Transmission is original, added a trans cooler and temp gauge when I bought it. Still runs strong.

I plan on keeping it many more years. I will be honest I get a little nervous driving it as I see fewer and fewer F-body's every year on the road. All it takes is one dummy to hit you and it's a Total Loss.

I just sold a LT1 6 speed car that had 281K on it of pure hell, and it still runs great. When I purchased it the guy tells me that it will do one heck of a good dounut. THat made me worry, but it just kept going as I beat it up.
So what I am saying is the motors these days will go alot further than the ones from back in the day like a traditional 350 Gen I.

these cars are like a fine wine. they only get better with age.

more importantly than milage numbers is how they were treated by the owner. i bought a 2000 ls1 a year and half ago and with 155K on it now it purrs like a kitten and roars like a pissed off lion. doesnt skip a beat. it was a one owner cali car and other than the rear main seal which i replaced when i got itther hasnt been an issue with my high milage car.

as long as it checks out by a mechanic, use the high milage to help negotiate a better price

Almost all of them do with higher mileage. Its not just from doing too many burnouts.

I got a 2000 B4C and it had 145K when i bought it and i gave it hell until at 170k she decided to blow a head gasket so its build time now. about to have the drivetrain back in it now within the next couple of weeks. so i wouldnt be scared to buy one with over 100k again. go for it and good luck
