What is the best aftermarket shifter out there, for 6 speed ls1's?? Something with the strongest centering spring to avoid 2-1 and 3-2 downshifts on accident, while racing.... lemme know guys!

There are some good shifters out there.
Pro 5.0
Hurst Billet
B&M Ripper
AND...
MGW
Im personally waiting until MGW comes out with a 16mm thread in Sept. and Im going to be one of the first buyers of it.

i've had stock, Ripper(B&M) and right now I have a pro 5.0. The ripper and 5.0 are very similar. The 5.0 is stiffer and its harder to miss a gear with it, but the tough spring is harder to drive when cruising, as the B&M seems to glide into gear easier. Either choice will be rewarding

I've used the B&M for years, and decided on a whim to try MGW's new F-body offering, and I like it better than B&M, but both are way better than stock.
I'd also have to agree that the Pro 5.0 and B&M feel pretty similar. The MGW, however, is truly a SHORT shifter. Much shorter than my B&M was.
Anyhoo...I'll be selling my old B&M.

I have a B&M in mine. Everything I've read says you can't go wrong with the B&M or Pro 5.0. Sounds like the MGW is pretty nice, but I don't know of anyone that has one, so I couldn't tell you for sure.

i will be purchasing the mgw shifter and one of their *****, if you order from them you can pick other things for your gears like holly ****, useless, or w/e you want. i want to order the shifter just for that reason lol. seems like a bad little piece though.
