Who Has had great junkyard finds
We had just finished up swaping my 2.73 to 3.42's I went and took my car for a drive, and it turns out the posi is bad! DAmn!! So we headed to the local junkyard to search f-bodies for posi carriers . I knew all the cars they had were 6 cylinder cars so i figured I wouldn't find anything. my brother in law is walking in front of me between two camaros and trips over something... Wtf he says Lol. He ended up tripping over the 3 series posi carrier I needed. He picked it up and it was in perfect condition. checked the car it came out of, it was a 96 V6 camaro with G80 Gu6 option Wierd?? I had never seen a V6 camaro with G80 code. So I lugged it up to the office and handed the guy $15 bucks and walked out. Got the new carrier in and it's perfect.

I found a good Euro Honda exhaust pipe
- Honda pipe pulled off and in the bed of my truck 30 dollars
- 12 gauge shell and the local wooded area .25 cents
- gas to drive to the local scrap metal yard 15 dollars
- Not having to listen the horrid sound of another ricer on the freeway - PRICELESS

Starting in 96 if it had a posi rear in it IF it had the Y87 option. This option included 4 wheel disc and dual turn down exhaust tips. That is the easy way to tell if its got posi is by the 4 wheel disc.
I dont know if its the same kinda deal with the camaro but i might assume if its got dual exhaust and 4 wheel disc it might be a good guess then its got a posi.
Good find
Makes me want to go and try to find a LS6 intake somewhere haha

All the junk yards around here have computer inventory & woun't even let you go out & look at what they have. Then they charge a % of retail for a new part. Not even worth it. I know the % is over 50% of a new part. What a joke.

They days when you could go back out and look for whatever you wanted are over! Nowadays it's all computerized inventory. They kinda got tired of people stealing parts out back! I know we used to do it! LOL

There are quite a few around here. I only goto one and they let me go back whenever I want and give me whatever I want cheap. But at the one I goto i've never seen a vette or ls1 or lt1. Last time I was there they had I think 5 v6 camaros. Alot of the stuff is taken off them already though. All the interiors and everything is ripped out. I know there is a 99 one there with the engine still in it and ttops still in it.

Theres one junkyard around here that I've been going to for years, they let me in and do whatever and give me good prices. I found a lot of stripped LS1 cars there too. One conversation led to another and I figured out all these stripped LS1 cars were coming from a guy in my town who fixes cars up for his car lot. He has a small junkyard in the back, he said he gets LS1 wrecks from auctions, ebay, etc and uses parts from one to get another one running.
He lets me pick them over before the junkyard has them. His prices are even lower than the junkyard. Last time I went he only had one camaro but told me for $50 I can take all the parts I want off it.

My buddy and his G-pa own about a 50 acre junk yard. Being able to go in there and find anything that I want...and anything that I dont want for that fact, is awesome. Ive spents hours and hours in there just looking around.

Eibach Pro lowering springs, $25 for all four of them.
Looked like they had about 20 miles on them.
Tried them, didn't like scraping the bottom of my car so often, so I switched back.
I've certainly done costlier mistakes.
