buzz kill / voice of reason. do you have the rest of your life in order? house maybe? r u able to take a vacation once in a while without jacking up the credit card? if everythings cool then go for what your heart says. if not then first payoff your credit cards /debt. at some point i think you have to be happy with your car / love it. just my 2 cents / no hate mail please!

Get the Corvette. Once you are married and have kids it will be too late unless you marry that very rare girl that will let you have an expensive hobby. Otherwise you won't be able to get one until you are 60 or if you get a divorce. What is the first thing every divorced guy does? He buys a nice car. Don't regret this chance in your life to get what you truly want or else you will be muttering "shoulda bought that 'vette" for the next 40 years. I've seen so many guys in this position. Fortunately I've been one of the lucky ones.

You only live once buddy. Remember you could die tomorrow and you'll be standing at the pearly gates going "Damn!! shoulda bought that Vette!"
But really what are your plans with the car? If your a straight line guy I'd stick with the Fbodies. If you like the road course stuff or your thinking of getting into it the C6Z will serve you VERY well..

Here's my .02
If you buy an 08 for 70k, 1 year from now you won't be able to sell it for for over 55k. So buy a used 06. Vettes hold there value great but only after a couple of years have past. And at least keep one F-body!

find a nice deal on a lightly used 2006 for the $50-55K range. (private party values)
Personally, I will be looking very seriously at one in a year, and I hope the price continues to drop to the $40-45K range, making it a really good bang/buck purchase.
But I will also be in the position to buy it cash, from a private party (and then most likely finance part from myself to free up some cash) vs having to buy it from a dealership, or trying to finance a used car from a private party purchase (can be difficult)

lol yall all took that comment way to seriously, it was more of a "stereotypical" type of comment. haha either way, to the OP the idea of 505 reliable, DDable hp sounds pretty kick ***. sorry but the voice of reason isnt going to chime in on this site, everyone's going to tell ya to go all out and get the Z06. while it wont have as nice an idle as your black TA, it'll make it feel slow im sure

I actually found a dealer that is including the GM Employee discount on Z06s. How they're doing it i don't know. Let's just say sticker they have there on a fully loaded 2LTZ 08 Z06(or what ever it is)---$67000 straight up. And that is for fully loaded. I think I'm going to pass on it unfortunately. After thinking about it, I will have the pink slip for the 99 in about 2 months. Today is the last day for the deal and they will jump well above $75K again after this. I just hope there will be a next time... but thanks for the comments guys.
