I need a voice of reason guys...
Buddy of mine, just got a 08 Sti and in the process told me a price on a 08 Z06 they have at the sister Chevy dealer from where he got the STi from. It's not going to necassarily put me in the poor house but am going to have to unload both TAs in the process for sure. Whether trading them in or selling them out right. I already talked to my insurance and it's way cheaper to have full coverage on the Z06 then the TAs together. Plus gas mileage wouldn't be to much worse. I want to do it so bad, but know I would be stuck in the car for atleast 2-3 years for sure until I would be coming out on top and would be able to get a decent trade in or resale on it. Sorry I'm not trying to brag or anything like that but am stuck and don't want to get rid of the fbodys. They are my reality dream car, but then again so is a C6 Z06. Should I go for it???

Do you like your F-bodies? I mean, do you actually like the cars or were they just the most powerful/fastest cars you could afford at the time, hence the reason you bought them? I'm asking because there are two types of people that own these cars; the type that truly love F-bodies for more than just affordable power, and the type that view them as nothing more than cheap speed.
If you really love the cars for whatever your own personal reasons are, then I'd say to keep them. You'll have NO problem finding low mileage, mint condition C6 ZO6s for sale for many years to come, so you can always pick one up. But F-bodies generally get trashed, and even at this point it's not easy to find super nice ones. So if the cars mean more to you than just horsepower, keep 'em, or at least one of them, and pick up a mint, low mile, used C6Z later when you can afford both.

I wanted a Trans Am WS6 since i saw the first one come out when I was in high school. They were LT1's then but look even better with the LS1/4th Gen styling. Hence me having 2. They are cheap speed but love the way they look. I'm also starting to think that if I do get the Z06 that I would have more power than the 99 I have, plus a "warranty"(if I don't start modding it like a retard). But would be stuck in a 2 seater for a little bit. I am single by the way with no kids which I would have to think about also. NO KIDS for a couple years atleast.

go for the Z06...5 year 100,000 mile warranty on 505 hp car. They are sick rides and with the handling and power already available u might be able to live wihtout modding it and voiding the warranty for a while
i like this color/wheel combo:

I say go for it. I just started a thread similar to this and I already have a mildly modded C6 with big plans for the future! I would personally go 06-07 though since you wont really loose anymore money. Look at what this 06 C6Z just closed for today on EBay.

I was looking at an '04 Z06 for a while..the main reason that I kept with the Camaro is that I like to mod and build, and with the Vette that was going to be pricy. That and another reason I wanted it was cause it was a M6.. I'm swapping that out in the Camaro, so that solves that want.
Personally a C5 Z06 is a sweet *** looking car.. but I love my LT1 Style Camaro as well..

Thanks guys, I'm still going to go up to the dealer tomorrow evening to start talking. See how things go. I really hate to see the 01 WS6 go because the car is flawless. After 3000 miles the oil still has a gold hue on a 75,000 mile motor too I would hate to go but it would be for a good reason i guess.

I thought about it too... selling my WS6 for 17 grand... than going to the stealership with 37 grand in cash and loaning the rest. Then my voice of reason said your 24, that 20 grand is for your future house .
So my answer is no, don't do it. They'll ALWAYS be around.
