I got my car for fairly cheap, so I make it a point to buy used or swoop in when someone's got a deal going. Like my wheels and tires that cost $450 for the set, buying a low mile rear with 3.73s for $300, and getting my double diamond subframes for dirt.

I did pay full for my Pacesetters, and they were at $579.99 shipped. I'm too stubborn and broke to pay labor, so I do it myself.

Can't wait to get a Yank. After helping Jetlag install his, I saw it's easier than doing headers.

the things i would look into buying is pretty much bolt ons. but i wouldn't buy any used pads, rotors, filters, or some tires. (i would but some DRs slightly used tho.) plus i wouldn't purchase some things from certain places. i only would buy locally, and only go with ppl who have a fairly good amount feedback. im itching to buy some of the used parts soon, but without having a job. its kinda holding me back.

I buy most of my parts used except for general maintainence parts (oil, filters, pads, etc.)

Can't really beat buying ceramic coated Pacesetter LT's for $150!.......or 4 used tires for $180 with 75% tread left....about to pick up 4 more used tires with 80-90% tread left for $200.

buying used isn't being cheap. if you can get the same quality part for half the price, why not.

i got a lid for $50 shipped
got front hypercoils and revalved bilsteins for $130
and some slp bilsteins + eibachs front and rear for $100 along with a free 32mm swaybar

only thing i acutally paid full price for was my LCA's, and that was just bc it was free shipping so it ended up costing the same as used.

Nothing wrong with used parts. I bought my tires and wheels used, the tires alone were worth more than what I paid, it was like getting the wheels for free.

I bought my FTRA used, it was in perfect condition, even had the instructions and original screws, and cost me about half as much as new one.

I look at the classifieds just about everyday. I know if I'm patient enough I WILL find a NBM oem WS6 hood.

I most likely wouldn't buy any internal engine, transmission, or rearend parts used, but other than that, no problem with used parts. Let someone else take the hit on the depreciation.

I've had 13 F-Bodies and I do this alot. If you search the classifieds often you can find parts that are like new or are new for a great price

its called a budget and bargain shoppin...i always look in the classafieds here because you never know the deals you will come across...i have gotten fenders, tb's, etc...and they are like new condition without stealership prices...just gotta look out for deadbeat sellers...check feedback first...most people are good selers but cha gotta watch out.
