Default Am I too much of a cheap ***???

Because whenever Im about to purchase a part for my T/A. I rethink it, and just say that Ill just buy it from the classifieds. Its alot more cheaper for me in the long run. What do you guys think? Sometimes I think I would regret it if it breaks or something.

I have always thought that there is no reason to buy brand new parts when you can buy good parts that are used, I guess I am a cheap *** to. I would guess if I had the money to but all new stuff I would do that.

Did you buy your car used? If so, nothing wrong with buying used parts! Even if you bought it new, chances are you put more miles on it than the parts you bought have on them!

Yeah I know, if I had the money to buy the parts brand new. I would scoop them up in a quickness. But since Im on the lower end of the totem pole things are tough. I want to go full bolt ons (i.e. Shorty Headers, SLP LM2, SLP Lid, and maybe a LS6 Intake Manifold.) in the near future. Seeing that Ill spend an arm, and a leg on brand new parts. I much rather just shop in the classified section, and be happy with it. Allso you right about buying a vehicle used, and how its pretty much the same in the end. I think about warranties all the time when I goto buy something. Now realizing, I didnt even get a warranty when I bought my car. DOH!!!

I think the only reason that I would wan to buy new over used you dont have to worry about buy somthing that might be broken or bad, plus you dont have to worry about getting burned or scammed by a scumbag.

There are things that makes no sense to buy new, like suspension pieces, wheels, intake, exhaust, then there are things that should normally be bought new like brake pads, sometimes tires and stuff.. But it all depends

So buy used, don't expect perfect all the time. But better prices and the knowledge it fits...

I will never buy a used part. I'd rather save up and wait so I can get new parts, especially for the valvetrain.

Depending on the part, most of my parts were used (as was my ws6) and most were a good deal (ie, i can sell them for close to what I paid or a profit)

Some things are not worth buying used (maintence items, regular brake parts, shocks)

Yeah, look at whether it's "used" or "worn". Lessee, I have a used
PHR, MAF, headers, LCAs, relo brackets, gears, heads, cam...
none of which have caused problems. Unlike a couple of new
retail pieces which did, not to name names.

If I could find the parts I want used, I probably wouldn't want them.

(Not trying to sound like an ***, but who's going to sell ARH's used? No one because they're f'king great)

But if I could get 'em for a used price, it'd be different.
