i know that off road guys put tires on backwards to increase traction... that is for off road, unless you have a desire to do some extreme off roading in the lexus of death.... then backwards directionals are a good idea

Just try it out and see how it goes but be a little cautious especially in the rain Are you just swapping your front tires around or is it wearing unevenly on all four corners?

lol, bi-sexual... It would be Bi-Directional if that were the case.

Ya, the new IS's suck when it comes to camber, they don't leave you much room for adjusments at all. Just be glad you don't have an sc430, you'd be putting tires on it every 15k, 20k if you push it, and they come factory with run flats, 320 for one ******* tire.

About the only lexus's that wear tires good are the GX470s and the LX's, I've seen many of them go 70k+ on the orginal tires. I've seen a few RX's in the 55k-60k range, but not many. Other than that your lucky to get 35-40k out of them.

In all seriousness, in addition to the previously mentioned wet traction issues that could be incredibly dangerous, some tires wear incredibly fast when on the wrong direction, in HS I had a set that didn't last 1000 miles on the front when they were swapped. I've also seen them last like there was nothing wrong, but that doesn't eliminate the danger of the tires forcing water under the tire rather than away from it.

I feel your pain man, my IS250 has the fronts tore up, but Im gonna milk em for a little while longer, its got 30k on the originals

nothing to brag about, but much better than most of the bimmers I work on, now they are pathetic about tire wear, talk about 20k or so

i was at a crapy track by my house lasr thursday and a guy was running the mickey thomson dr's backwards lol. i would of figured if your smart enough to know slicks give you more traction you would at least know how to put them on right and the guy had a built lt1 camaro lol.
but that dont beat the gt stang with the nitto drags on the front i seen around spring time.
i asked him how it handled just for fun and he said its on rail's lmfao.

Nope, I have not tried it yet. I will soon though, we'll see how it goes.

All of them wear funky, one looks good in the back the other is wearing on the outside edge. The front's wear the inside pretty bad.

I had a set of directional tires that were mounted on backwards once. They made it 10,000 miles before they were down to 2/32nds

I am thinking of getting them remounted to the opposite side. But, that costs money.
