To answer your question, running directional tires in the opposite direction on wet roads can increase the chance of hydroplaning by forcing the water to the center of the tire instead of forcing it away from the tire. Not saying this will happen, just increases the chances depending on the conditions.

They use to say that it would mess up the belts inside the tire, but that's not true any more. The only problem you will have now is in the rain since your tread is backward. Technology did away with the belts separating.

You will have the best reverse gear times at the track. So that's something there. Challenge your buds to a reverse 1/4 mile. Be sure to adjust the mirrors.

aren't uni-directional tires able to be run either way?...kinda like uni-sex means male and/or female. i heard about some dumbass ricers thought they could improve traction by reversing their directional tires....i laughed as they spun out and couldnt steer at high speeds.
