GTO Vs. Z28 Vs. TA Vs. Other? For everyday Driver
#24
I'd get a T/A or SS. Both look sick, and if you get an M6, you can get pretty decent gas milage. To me, the only thing that I think the 05-06 GTO's have goin for them over the F-Bodies is the LS2's. Other than that, I think the F-Bodies are a better choice.
Plus, I dont like how the GTO feels when sitting inside it. I'm not a fan of the seating position, and I always manage to hit my head when i'm getting in or out of one .
All of them are good choices. And you can definately find clean f-bodies too. You just gotta look, and might have to pay a little more, but they are out there.

Man, I saw a white cts-v today going to Altus, OK. That thing was sexy. I told my friend that it was the cadillac corvette. She didn't get it at first but once I explained it, it made sense.

I agree - The GTO is bland and no t-tops. But if you like comfort over style and fun factor go with the GTO. It's not a bad car. I had the choice between that, a C5 vette, and the Trans Am. I chose the Trans Am and haven't looked back yet. BTW you can still find low mileage ones if you look. Mine had 32k on it.
But if comfort and MPG are a big factor for you, I would look at some different vehicles. Sports cars may not be what you're looking for.
Good Luck!

we currently own a 06 gto, 01 z28, and sold our 02 t/a last year.......... in my opinion the gto is the best riding, driving, handling, and stock vs stock the fastest of them all, it easily sets 4 full grown people with comfort, instead of putting the midgets or chicks in the back, i would like it to have the shell of an 02 sunset orange ram-air, but oh well........ it also does good on gas, mine is an A4 and i get right at 22mpg with the cruise on, my buddy has an M6 and he gets about +1.5mpg more than me, only mods is K+N filters on both, the goats are also alot better fit and finish with higher quality control......... the cts-v is a fine ride too, just depends on what you want, if your single i'd go f-body, if you got kids i'd do cts or goat

id say gto, ive driven a lot of them a4 and m6 at an old job picking up lease cars. i like gto's a lot, great interior, look great when tastefully modded, and they were all fun but the manual ls2 dumdumdum! get the gto!

Muscle cars are supposed to be big "muscular" looking cars. They've always been straight line cars, so I'm OK with the minor decrease in comfort and less cornering capability. It sticks with its heritage, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Site won't let me vote, but if you can, get a cheap pos econobox for your commute and an fbody or gto for weekends. If you can't, get an M6 gto. Whatever you do, you can't go wrong with either the fbody or gto. G/L

I got my car because I had sold my 5.0 'Stangs and wanted more bang for the buck. My truck is my DD but I only drive 12 miles to work.
Out of the 3 a 6 Liter GTO would be my choice. Best interior, great touring car, and very solid.
If I were in the market for a different DD my personal choice would be an Audi A4 or S4 if I could swing it. That's why I chose other. I have a friend with a 1999 A4 that is quick as hell with new turbo, FMIC, Wastegate, exhaust and tune. He also has a tune and exhaust 2005 S4 and it is an incredible daily driver.
Just my opinion as I travel to PA through the snow and love interstate cruisers.
