i did,
worlds difference. the fbody was more raw, alot more road noise, rattles, clanks, rugged. c5 just is a better vehicle in that sense.
ride quality and handling of the c5 is way better.
wouldnt ever go back to a fbody, next car will be a c6z hopefully.
however, my friend had a gto, and it was a VERY nice car. rode great and the interior was nicer than my c5.
c5's have their negatives though, more expensive parts and labor, most is markup BS though (vette tax).

Went from a blown 547rwhp 2000 WS6 TA to a 06 Vette with 450 rwhp, the vette is quicker in the 1/4 mile, gets much better mpg, handles better and is much more refined. That being said, I loved my TA and hope to own another again soon, but I'm keeping the vette.

Wow thats pretty impressive 100 diffrence and STILL faster! I'm not going to discriminate. Either way I'm going to have an @$$ kicking ride!
If I went with the Fbody I'd go with a STS Turbo kit with little hesitation.

I went from an Incon Twin Turbo Firehawk (with the engine pictured in my sig) to a stock '01 Zo6.
I'd do it again in a heartbeat. The car hooks up and is honestly faster from a dig, and if it was a twisty mountain road I'd feel much more secure in the Zo6 than the Firehawk.
I rode in my buddy's WS6 (after being out of an f-body for over a year) and I couldn't believe how big the WS6 felt..... it felt like a barge barreling it's way around turns... the Zo6 has almost zero body roll.
Plus, a C5 has more curves than a Victoria Secret model.

i went from a cammed f-bod to a c5 coupe... dont regret it at all. the car is dead sexy, weighs less, corners like you wouldnt believe, and gets over 30 mpg. heads up display is pretty rockin too. about the only thing im not crazy about is ground clearance, but i can live with slowing down extra slow for a speed bump or steep driveway. i ended up paying 19 for my 01 with 50k on the clock. pretty affordable for the quality of vehicle you are getting if you ask me

plenty of good deals on vettes going on now!
sucks for me since i bought mine about a year ago, and they started falling a good bit since then.
saw a guy on here recently pick up a 03 c5z with >30k miles for 24k. pretty good deal. alot of car for that much.

doesnt the z06 body have more drag at high speeds cause of that trunk, just something i heard. who knows it thats true. anyways the only thing that stopped me from going for a z06 is no targa top. i planned on doing h/c swap to whichever one i got so power difference wasnt a factor in my choice

i had a som ws6 with ttops, used them not to often, so going to a hardtop didnt bother me at all. i like the more compact 'racecar' interior of a hardtop.
that, and you see 20 coupes for every hardtop.
^ exactly, to each his own bro.

your right on the speed thing too, the coupe body has a higher mph than a hardtop due to aerodynamics. but i think its like 176 to 172 or something. i dont plan on going that fast without a full cage and helmet anyways. ha.

wow im with evebodys responses here....i too went from a cammed CamaroSS (see sig) to an 01 ZO6 stock (bout to go to the desert though, not stock much longer
) . man the handling, the ride, comfort, the GAS MILEAGE, i like it all. Now dont get me wrong...i loved my camaro to death....ha until its death
....but like somone has previously posted, i went back and drove my buddies full bolton SS and it felt so heavy and not NEARLY as responsive. you get used to it pretty quickly....one more thing find a highway around mountains with some curves....i PROMISE youll love it!!!
