^^The Trex would not be the cam he needs. With that cam he would have to have his
idle raised so high with a stock stall the car will load the stock converter up at a stop light. And thats a pain. If you dont have the money for a stall you're gonna need a cam thats got the same idle speed close to the stock cam. Like what was mentioned before the 2001 LS6 cam is a good choice since its cheap. Another one you can look at that makes great
power and still idles @ 600prm is the GT2-3 cam from Lingenfelter. A guy i know istalled one on his 2004 GTO LS1 and he now runs mid-12's, and that was only with the GT2-3 cam a cold air kit and headers. And he used to run 14.0"s before the install. But our cars are alot lighter than a GTO so you can just get a lid and filter and and either cam and you'll love it
Hope i could help. If you have anymore questions just ask. Enjoy.

there's a section for this. basicly in a nutshell, anything under 230 is a baby cam and MINIMAL changes are required. anything over will need a stall and other essentials. hard to understand at first, but after a little research in the INTERNALS section you could learn.

Honestly, don't even bother doing a cam untill you have a stall/gears.
A friend of mine has 2.73s with a stock converter and wanted to do a baby cam thinking he would gain some and retain his drivability and mph. He went with a 224r, which is one of the smallest cams available.
He saw absolutely no gain in his ET, but about a 5mph jump. He has lid/cutout/!cats/tune/cam. Needless to say, he's getting gears/stall before next season.
My car with 3.73s, yank 4000stall with lid/catback/manifolds/cats/untuned was running .4-.5 tenths quicker than his, except I had less mph than him. I killed him out of the hole so bad there was no way he could catch up by the 1/4. He was gaining on me quickly, and there is no doubt that if we kept going for a while he would have passed me, but by those speeds the race is over.
Do your mods in the usual order, there is a reason. Boltons/stall first, THEN cam.
