Post Revvvvving my car...

From watching videos of LSx powered cars reving there engines on this site and youtube it seems like most cars rev up faster than mine. My car is an automatic and has stock drivetrain with the mods listed in the sig.
It seems like it takes a "blink of an eye" to rev the motor up to lets say 5k or 6k on other peoples' cars but it takes mine longer...
Before i say somethings wrong with my car i would like to know what is the cause of this. I am guessing my car revs slower because of the fact that it is an automatic? I have seen manual cars that have similar power who rev up to 5k or 6k much faster.

Thanks for the help.

Maybe try revving it in "N" and not in gear?

I remember I used to think the same thing in my auto back in the day and now not at all with the M6 but the old one was stock and this one isn't so I'm not sure what it could be though!

maybe its the method you use when you rev up. if you rev from 500 rpm to 6000 rpm, it takes a little while to get it movin, but if you bring the reves up to about 1,000-1,500 then stomp on it, it makes it sound faster, and thus more impressive.

X2

And if you're comparing power of stock vs modded, that's an obvious question

A4 or M6 - doesn't matter much either way.

I was curious. i think it has to do with having a 55 pound converter.
SStheBest i will try an underdrive pulley.

mine revs fine in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. jk.

anyway. comparing stock to modded is just silly. and it really doesnt matter if it revs fast or not... or does it?

i know i dont have an ls1 but i test drove a 2000 trans am with an automatic that was completly stock and it felt like it took forever for it to rev in neutral. My lt1 revs a lot faster, but i think i read somewhere that after 98 or 99 the ls1 cars got a different ratio cable so you're not opening the throttle body quite as fast.

get someone that knows how to rev a car.. not your ricer friend or your girlfriend.. but someone that knows what to do and you stand outside of it.. because when i hear mine (inside the car it seems like it does take forever) but when i hear my friends his sounds really fast.. but if i stand outside and get someone to rev mine, it sounds just as fast.....

both cars are modded.. stall cam yada yada yada..

Post a video up and we can compare. I hit the rev limited for the first time the other day while passing a ws6(seeing a trans am in my town is like finding jesus in a strip joint) As for revving it up faster, the less weight on the drivetrain the quicker it will revv, lighter stall converter, lighter flexplate, under drive pulleys, and the normal induction/exhaust mods should make her scream
