the car is a 01 on the same dyno a c5 zo6 put down 348 or so HP and before he even made the pulls he said the car was going to pull about 330 -340 with my mods so it isnt to far off according to peat at performance dyno in concord nh.

off course I dont know if he even did a street tune on it only a wot tune

when you do 70 on the highway, how long is each trip for? Are we talking all highway, no stops/cool-downs, or is this more like work commuting? That will make a big difference in the numbers you get.

For example, if I take my Camaro to work and back for a week, it's 80% highway, I go between 70-75mph. I go ~35 miles each direction, so on a 300 mile tank, I took about 8 trips. That's 8 cold-starts and warm ups. Work commuting I reach around 21-23 MPG.

Now if I take my car on one long trip, going the same 70-75 mph, I'll pull around 26 MPG.

If you do a lot of short trips (drive the car cold, to where it never gets the chance to warm up) you will be open loop and not getting optimum MPG. With a performance tune you usually run a little bit richer to make more HP, compared to lean for maximum economy.

that's crazy, man is it an auto? i may have missed where it was said so be patient with me. My C5 with mods in sig and power in sig got 33mpg on my 200 mile(each way) trip to Duluth from central MN and 34 of the way back. This was verified by filling up when left town, resetting Trip and filling when i got to my hometown and not off the DIC although the DIC was almost dead on and only off by 1mpg. I'd say the car needs a tuneup or a it's in your Tune~Cole~

Also here i do believe that you get more power if it's just slightly lean vs. rich. Just what my tuner Doug Rippie from DRM said
