Default Serious steering problems.......

So it seems as if i lost power steering COMPLETELY.

I was taking a buddy of mine home, and when i went to turn on his road...NOTHING i had to freaking hulk out on the steering wheel....the power steering fluid was low (unknown to me) and i filled it up and nothing...never whined or felt like it was going out or anything. What could be going on ?

ok try removing the return hose on the pump to see if the pump is actually forcing fluid through the rack

Wow, never heard that one happen. Usually the pump will just leak, but not just stop working.

Is the rack still in one piece?

Visually check for any leaks. Ive also seen many broken shafts on the pump. Take the belt off and pull the pulley forward (as if you are trying to slide it off the shaft) and see if it comes out. Everything will appear normal until you actually get the belt off and check it. If it does come out that shaft is broke and you will need a new pump.
