Default camshaft??

to install a camshaft into a 94 firebird do u have to raise the motor outa the car or is there an easier way?

You dont have to remove the motor. Youll need to move/drop the condenser and radiator but its been done many times with the motor in the car. ls1howto.com has a good writeup, check it out

do u hav to change the coil packs over too win u put a cam in?

You have a distributor on your LT1 buddy. No coil packs. Even if it were an LS1, the coil packs dont need to be changed. You need to remove them to pull the valve covers to hold up the lifters.

i didnt mean the coil packs i ment the springs? do that come w the cam?

It may or may not but you will need them with a new cam. Check out this thread for lots of info on cams. It deals with LS1s but a lot of the info is relevant to LT1s as well.

Always a good idea to get some springs..that can hold the it together.....dont' skimp. New oil pump not a bad idea. Pull the radiator all that, should be able to change it without pulling the engine..

Read and search a lot...if your having these type questions..might be better to pay a local shop or a sponsor(not trying to be mean)
