Sometimes they just blow out together. Changes in the weather, using them more this time of year. Whenever one of mine goes out I buy 2. Might be a bigger problem, or might be a coincedence.

My alternator freaked out one day and went to 17+ volts, I just happened to be logging with HPTuners at the time so I wasn't going by the dash gauge.

It blew out both headlights.

This is unrealated, but a long time ago I purchased a little setup from (of all places) JCWhitney that makes it so ALL of the headlights come on when you hit the high beams. Pretty cool mod. It was cheap, and something to look into when you get your situation ironed out. Damn if it isnt BRIGHT too. FYI, you can also wire the fog lights to come on then too... but they dont do crap anyway.

I had the same problem with my lowbeams blowin all the time. I just drilled the back of the lamps, slid some 9006s in and permatexed it up. it works AMAZING now but you gotta convert to 9006 pigtails from a camaro ($2 a piece at Advance). BTW, I never wired my highs and lows to stay on at the same time but they started doin it anyway...hmm...what could cause that? bad switch?

You can do that for free (almost) using the method in the FAQ at the top of this section.

You have a 1998-2002 Firebird. That is the stock behavior.

It was both bulbs burned out. I had Silverstars which suck they only last about 1 1/2 yrs both times I've used them. I got the xravision bulbs at Walmart. I wanted the GE nighthawks but Walmart no longer carried them.
