Default question about p1416 code

hey guys,

i have noticed a sound during deceleration, kind of like a winding down noise very similar to the sound of a jet engine shutting down if that helps. i got a p1416 code being thrown, could this be causing this sound????

any help is appreciated,

thanks

kevin

Probably not, the AIR activates during cold starts and the air pump is electrical. When I threw P1416 I didn't notice any noises, replaced the clogged check valve and the code went away. Guess you could check the air system hoses/connections for any leaks.

They could possibly be related, I tend to doubt it though. Check the air injection pipe running into the passenger side exhaust manifold for any cracks or damage, if there was a leak in that line it might make a noise like that and also throw a P1416 code. But usually P1416 means the check valve in that line is clogged.
