Default Brake smell

Hello I have a 2002 WS6, and I have been noticing that the rear brakes have been smelling lately. I took them apart and cleaned everything and put it back together but the smell persists. I looked at the E-brake and it does not appear to be worn, but the back rotors are starting to have a blueish hue to them. Has this happened to anyone before?

Are you sure it is the brakes that are smelling? The front brakes should be doing most of the work and your back brakes should not be getting hot.

I just replaced the pinion seal on the rear end. I first noticed that it was leaking by the smell of rear end fluid on the exahst pipes.
When I got under the car I could see where the smell whas coming from.

If the rotors are starting to get a bluish hue to them it sounds like they are getting really hot (which would explain the smell).

Jack up the rear of the car (block the front wheels first ), put it in neutral, and spin the rear wheels. Do they move ok or is there drag from the brakes?
