I let my sister drive my Z car one evening while I was out of town with a buddy and she locked the keys and set the alarm and somehow left the keys in the cup holder.. she called some state police dude they couldn't get it unlocked. So my friend and I returned a couple of days later to see my Z with a long scratch down the side of the car (the sail pannel maybe? piece right behind the window) and two deep scratches at the edge of the door beside the handle and downward.. into the metal.. I about had a heart attack. blah.. Anyhow to the point.

We just pulled the window outward and put a lighter inbetween the window and the rubber that goes around the window.. put two clothes hangers together.. made a hook on the end.. and fished the keys out of the cup holder... hardest part was getting the keys through the window.. but i'm still bummed about the 3 horrible scratches on the side of my car..

I look at it this way though.. atleast it didn't happen to my 02 SOM SS

Sorry for the long post guys

Left my keys in the ignition, had my hands full getting out (just came back from the track) so before I loaded up I hit the door lock button on the driver door, got out, closed door.

DOOOOOHHHHH!!!

Since it was the night before Thanksgiving I had to wait until Friday to pay a visit to the stealership and have a new door key cut. Bring photo ID and title. $6, 15 minutes of waiting, and it was all over with.
