Default car not starting (not ls1)

my DD decided not to start last night so im trying to figure out whats wrong. so the car started then sputterd (sp) out, i tried again and the same happend, then the third time it wouldnt start at all. i did kinda overfill the gastank yesterday and was wondering if that could be part of the problem?
if so would i just pull out the plugs and deflood the engine?
its a 99 saturn sc1 automatic

My first guess is the fuel pump is gone. Turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump whine...if none, check for a fuel rail schrader valve and turn the key on and depresse the valve and see if fuel spurts out....if not..then it is probably the fuel pump!

i'd check the pump/fuel pressure first.
Seen quite a few crank sensors on those fail as well. They cause all kinds of wierd issues.

well it starts now but its real ruff and you have to keep giving it gas, but then it settles down and runs fine, could that be the crank sensor or somthing else?

Prolly something else. Usually the crank sensors will cause stalling issues hot when they start to go on those.
