Default Low coolent light.

"98 Z28 LS1", My low coolent light comes on but only after the thermostat opens. The overflow is also full. Is this a bad sensor or maybe air in the cooling system ???

Most likely a bad sensor, they suck.

But if your over flow rfeservoir is getting filled up you need a new cap.

If you are getting air into the system, your coolant would boil over and you would over heat pretty fast.

The overflow just sits at the full mark. The engine always runs cool.
How do the sensors come out?

If its a bad sensor, go to: www.rockauto.com They have AC Delco and aftermarket ones.

There's a metal clip that holds them in place. Go to that website and look at the pics and you will see how the clip works. It comes off very easily.

As far as it coming on after the t-stat opens, you could have some air in there. Just top it off after it opens and starts to flow. Wait for it to close and then open again, and top it off again. That should do it.

You could just unplug it too, if the light bothers you. Thats what I did with my 1998 T/A when the sensor went bad a few years ago.
