I think the oil light goes off miles/hours, but, it is no real reflection on the actual condition of the oil.

It's much more sophisticated than that. It factors in operating temperatures reached, amount of time spent running per start, and other factors that influence oil life. Do some research on it. It is an amazing program.

To the OP - it depends on what kind of 0-30 you're running, and how many miles it's been when the oil light comes on. The best way to know is to have your oil analyzed. I learned from that that running Castrol GC 0-30 is good for at least 6000 miles in warm weather conditions.

Not bad oil but if you can get it, get Castrol Syntec 0w30 European formula ("German Castrol")
