Default steering wheel replacement?

I'm going road racing in a stock class and need to disaple the airbag. So, I thought I might as well upgrade the stock wheel. Anybody got any ideas on what aftermarket steering wheels I could use? Also, how do you diable the airbag if I keep the stock wheel? The car is a 95 Z28.
thanks in advance Leebo

I believe you have to join the site to see. Excellent site and invaluable resources; well worth signing up for.

Ok first disconnect the battery. Very important. Then remove the front part of the steering wheel should be four screws. You have to go from the back of the wheel. Then the front of the steering wheel should be loose. Then slighty remove it. Some time the horn springs pop out and go every where. Then undo the yellow connector SIR then unscrew the the bag and reinstall. That should get you most of the way through it. May differ from the LT1 cars to the LS1 cars. Don't know for sure tho

Then if you want to get a jump pack after it is removed and hook up to leads to the connector adn watch the thing go boom. FYI the smell sucks. When it pops.

I've looked around for a long time for a law that mandates the existence of a driver's side airbag in a car. Fortunately for us...the actual federal law only says that its illegal for a shop or mechanic or anyone besides the individual owning/driving the car to remove it.

When you remove the airbag, you assume responsibility for doing so. Enjoy!

What about putting a aftermarket wheel on the car. I can't seem to find the correct adaptor to do so...
