Changing window motor help.
Changing window motor help. K now its time for a new fix for the winter, so does anyone know if theres a writeup before I go doing this? I was planning on buying a set off ebay for 50bucks.
i just did it for the first time 3 days ago. it took 7 hours but honestly looking back i could have done it in 3 if i knew what i was doing and had all the right tools ahead of time.
essentially there's a mounting bracket riveted to the inside of the door panel. then the motor is riveted to the mounting bracket. there's 3 key spots where you drill through the fiberglass then through the small rivets holding the motor to the mounting bracket. the replacement motor has nuts and bolts to replace the rivets. you just switch it out, tighten the nuts and put the door back together. the hard part is maneuvering the motor inside the door when you can't see what you're doing. i recommend taking the speaker out, much easier to work through that whole than the other big whole at the end of the door.

^^^^^ Holy **** 7 hours! It took me 2 hours(first time) for my drivers side motor. It took me that long because I had to go to Home depot to buy some drill bits. You work very very slow.....lol

HAHA, well, i didn't have a drill, so i had to go buy a drill, then i had to go get a light bulb, then i broke 2 drill bits, then i drilled the wrong spot like 4 times... yeah, i'm a noob to this kinda stuff.
