Default Gas gauge stopped? NOT THE SENDER

Is there any way to fix the gas gauge on the gauge cluster itself? I had my cluster out to replace some bulbs that burned out, now the oil gauge moves with a jerky motion and the gas gauge is stuck at half full, won't move at all. I put a spare cluster in the car and it works 100% fine. I made sure the needles didn't tip all the way around or anything when I replaced the bulbs, anything I can do or did it just take a **** on me?

If you took the needles off did you make sure they did not get pushed down to far and now they are rubbing on the guage face causing them to move with a jerky motion or not move at all?

In short, plug in the GOOD cluster & see where the needle points. Then put in the other cluster, pull out the needle, and point it to where the good one pointed to.

I didn't take apart the front or anything the first time, I already tried this and it doesn't help. It goes right back to the middle.
