Default Engine vibration?

I was sitting waiting for the light to change and I felt the car shake. I looked at the tach to see if the RPMs were changing but they weren't. I got home and popped the hood and twisted the throttle a little and held it to probably about 1200-1300 rpms. The engine started to shake and and the only thing I could guess that would be the problem would be the plugs. I changed them out about a month ago. I also noticed that it uses more gas than it use to. I checked to make sure the plug wire were seated all the way and they felt like they were. Anybody have this problem?

Mine does the EXACT same thing. It seems out of balance or something around 1200-1400 or so. I'm not sure what makes it do that, but like you, I would really like to know.

does the shaking go away with no loss of power once rpms climb?

Mine too!
My TA sounds and feels like crap below 2000 RPMs, But is solid after that.
Of course I have the piston slap(noise) too.

Mine does that too. With the piston slap noise and a small tic that comes and goes. Shop has told me these engines have noisy valvetrains and that the "shake" at low RPM's is normal. Whether I believe them is a different story.
