Default Not running right taking off

When I take off sometimes, happens once every few times I drive the car, it doesnt run right like its struggling for maybe 5 or 10 seconds, then runs fine. I checked my wires and found a sensor in front of my headers on the driver side looks like it was hit and needs to be replaced, its barely on. Im guessing this is the temp sensor? which could explain why my gauage doesnt work. My question is, would this cause my car to run like **** sometimes?

When this happens what does your fuel pressure look like? Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

Some emissions sensors influence the fuel mix, so its not surprising that a sensor problem will look like a fuel issue.

Where is the sensor and what gauge isn't working?

Oil temp gauge stopped working and the sensor is on the drivers side in front of the header(towards front of the car) directly beside the header and goes into the head

You mean the oil pressure? You better get that fixed before cruising it. How do you know if your oil pump went out and the guage is working right?

The temp sensor is what is on the front of the driver side head. If your not getting any temp reading the car will run like ****. The car is still sensing a cold condition and dump more fuel then it does when its warmed up. Its like leaving the choke on your lawnmower.

its the temp not pressure gauge that isnt reading. I did notice my pressure was running a little high..think it was up to 60? 3/4 across the gauge dont remember how much that is

Oil pressure is fine then...

I know on my temp sensor it ended up being the connector wasnt making good contact with it. So, I pushed the female side in the connector closer together and its been good ever since.

that's not high at all. Ideally you should be in the 50-60 range at idle, and over 60 cruising.

It depends on the temps outside, what the RPM's are set at as well... 40 - 60 is where mine runs.

So it sounds like your coolant temp sensor is the one that is not right. This is likely the sole cause of your stumble and gauge problems. Definitely something to get fixed and can cause you worse issues down the road if it malfunctions more frequently.

You sure they should be different? I highly doubt they would be.

I just had this same problem with my '00 T/A, I checked the fuel pressure, plugs and wires and all the harnesses but every thing was good. I did some research and found this product to clean the MAF sensor and it fixed the problem immediatly I would strongly reccomend the product. I bought it at Autozone for like 6 bucks, as far as the sensor I would deffinetly change it while your there...couldn't hurt anything. Good luck http://www.crcindustries.com/auto/co...x?PN=05110&S=Y
