Car starting problem
Car starting problem Yesterday I go to crank the car up and it starts then immediatly dies. Start back up and it runs fine. Drive to work and park. Leave work and same thing, starts then dies, start up and then drive home. Did the same thing this morning. Any ideas? I did replace the alternator last week and everything seems fine with it.
Got in it this afternoon and same thing. Once I got home it started right up. I turned it back off and it will not start up. Tried both sets of keys, and nothing. The SECURITY light is on the whole time that it will not start. Is this the VATS going out?
If its the VATS system you lucky its warning you, last week mine just went out without warning, just woldn't start at all, but the SECURITY light was flashing so doing the VATS bypass worked for me, saved me bout $400. $3 in resistors, $45 towing fee and some aspirin for the headache

Yes, you should still do something about it because that problem comes back when you least expect it. I thought it was a fluke at first but it came back at the worst possible times. Cost $350 for the dealership to fix that on my girl's firebird, or as mentioned, you could bypass.
this vid gives u an idea of how easy it is to bypass I'd sugest you do it, its cheap and if it wasn't the problem o well you are out $3 .
only diffe is you dont do it from the the white wires on the ls1.
If I remember the wires are white w/black stripe and like a purple w/white stripe.

and if you have two keys and want to do it for free, and dont want to do the math on how to get the value for your key , you dont need the ressistors. just put electrial tape all over the key but the lil chip, and bam you got your ressistor, I know cause I tried it
