screw in my tire
Was fixing my fog lights this morning and while i had the car jacked up i noticed that there is a screw in my passengers side front tire. No idea how long it has been there, but the tire is still holding pressure just fine. Question is, if i go to get it sealed, it should still be just as safe to drive on afterwards right? I just dont want a tire blowout at 100mph+ at the dragstrip.

tire plug kit F.T.W.
if you take it to a tire shop, they'll **** up your rim dismounting or remounting the tire, have to rebalance the wheel after remounting the tire which they most likely will not resulting in a slightly out of balance wheel, and/or overtorque your lugs reinstalling the wheel causing rotor runout in a couple thousand miles and pulsating brakes.
Just pick up a tire plug kit from walmart, jack the car, do it yourself in 15 minutes. You'll probably need a drill with the right size drill bit to enlarge the whole to the right size to get the tire plugger in by hand, it's a bitch using the hand reamer.
I've have the goodyear 275/40-17 tire that came with my 2002 plugged, been fine for the past 20k or so miles and I've had the speedo triple digits a few times, and had the 16 inch tire on my altima plugged for i don't know how long and just had to get new tires because the originals were bald. never had a problem with a plug, have more problems when someone else does work on the car
