Default Service Engine Soon Light

My service engine soon light come on the other day. There doesn't seem to be any problems that I have noticed, but is Advanced or Auto Zone able to run any codes? Also, where can I find a list of all the codes that the computer can throw?

Stock engines usually throw the EGR code. Its meaningless if thats it. Go to Advance Auto or PepBoys and they'll check the code for free, and clear that SES light. If its the EGR code, forget about it.

I had that thing come on about 3 years after I had my car. Had it cleared and it never came back on.

All the codes are in a sticky in this section.

When my SES light came on, I went to AutoZone and used there Scanner and found that My O2 sensors where acting up(After my LT Header Install). The guy there told me to write down the codes that where showing(Siad something like P0**, cant remember it exactly) but then when back into the store and he looked it up in there computer to find out the exact code/problem.

Thats what I would do. It worked out well for me and it was all FREE.

The SES light I got when my car was stock after a few years of owning it was that thing. The code was just cleared and it never came on again. Norris Motorsports was the ones who cleared it and they popped my hood and pointed to that thing and said thats what was throwing the code. It never came on again.

But when my 427ci went in about 6 months later, that crap all got ripped out anyway.

if its the evap most likely its a bad gasket on the gas cap, or its loose if not then it could be some dry rotted lines. nothing major tho

I went to auto zone and they told me that I am throwing a P0440 code. Anyone know what I need to do to fix this. I am guessing that P0441 is pretty much the same thing.

most evap codes that i have ran into in the automotive world have either been bad gas cap/loose or canister purge or vent solenoids.

it will be a black valve located between your driver side valve cover and fuel rail. it will have 2 plastic quick disconnect lines on both sides and a 2 pin connector connected to it.
