Default need help badly

I need some serious help. My car went dead because of a dead battery so i had the alternator tested. That showed the Alt was dead and i installed a new one. Then I got a new battery and thought i was done. Now 2 alts later nothing is charging. Could it be the trigger wire? and if so where does the trigger wire go to? I am at my wits end. Please help....

Where is the volt reg? i am looking at the schematic from shbox and it shows it in the generator. My next area is the try the resistor in the instrument cluster. Any thoughts on that or anything else for that matter?

On other thing, the problems started when i installed a new radio. Do you think i screwed something up during the install? I cant seem to think what but who knows.

I think you might have solved your own problem.....the new stereo. Try pulling the fuse to that circuit and see if the problem persists if you dont wanna un-install the stereo.

Did you use an install kit for the stereo, or hack it in yourself??

Usually when a new problem shows up, ask yourself "what is different, what have I changed / done recently" and quite often you have yourself an answer.

Get a meter and check continuity from the small red wire with a large connector to the inside of the connector. Also, is your check gauges light on? If it is, then the alternator is not charging. If it is off, the alternator is trying to charge.
