Because its a switched signal, you either need an oscilloscope or a peak-n-hold DAT meter. It pulses for about 3ms.

To check the "voltage" you need to unplug a connector at a pack or go to the white main harness and get a volt meter..turn the key to run...put the black ground wire on the negative (-) of battery and the red power wire to one of the pins in the connector. I want to say it's a pink wire but not sure, I think its the same color for all the other colors though. to check if the coil is firing is what MNR is talking about.....

If you're having a problem with the coils, check the 2 ground wires that bolt to the back of the driver side? head....Without them on it will not Start...I learned the hard way haha
