Same way with mine. Cracked all the way through just like that on the driver's side. 1" white stress crack on the passenger's side. Bought replacement door panels from TN Auto (sponsor). Both sides have very small stress cracks now also.
FWIW, my driver's side didn't crack all the way through until a very VERY cold day here in TN. I got in the car, shut the door, and heard a loud "CRACK!" Looked around trying to figure out what happened and then saw that my door looked like the one above. It has to be a Firebird thing with the way the door is designed and shaped right there.

Both of my door panels are cracked also. This seems to be a Firebird only problem. Heat may be an issue since I live in Florida; but I have never seen any Camaros down here with the same cracks. Mine started cracking after the warranty was used up. I would just get new door panels, but I have the tan interior and no one has tan door panels .
GM realy should recall this since it seems to be Firebirds only, and everyone with tan interiors like me cannot get replacement panels.

Both the door panels on my 2000 T/A are cracked...about 1". Black on black interior, dark tint. Running my hand across the top of the plastic part of the panels I notice the panel feels a little warped. And feels like something right at the crack under it(probably that staple I keep hearing about). Makes sense...we rest our arms on the door panel going down the road, hence pressure on this manufacturing "flaw", and voila...cracked door panel. Sounds like another f-body defect we gotta live with...like the oh so wonderful 3rd gen rear motorized hatch assemblies with flimsy plastic parts.

There were tiny cracks on mine 2 years ago when I bought her, now the pass. side is split in two (from the wifes slams) and the drivers is getting worse. You just gotta remember to shut em easy. I also have a split dash, right under the defrost vent.99 by the way.

I got an 01 WS6 and live in SC, got the car in April. And the door cracked shortly after buying it, it’s under warranty but I have a $200 deductible. The car started in Alabama I think. I don’t know y it would start cracking after it moved to a cooler climate. I don’t think it’s the car twisting doing it, I put on subframes like a week after buying it and it still happend. IMO I think the windows a playing a factor too, Anybody notice how much the door panel moves when you put the window up and down? (I hope so, if not that means only my car does it ) You think maybe we should all email Pontiac or GM or who ever we need to at the same time? it's easy to say you missed an email here or there but about a hundred all at the same time should grab somebody's attention.

To be honest I'm really beginning to think it has to do with whether the door panel has ever been removed. My girlfriend's 2002 Firebird came from Texas and the windows aren't tinted like mine. I've noticed my door panels move a good bit....but her's don't. This may or may not have anything to do with the problem but that's what my thoughts are on the subject. I should have a new door panel going in next week that's being covered by my warranty.

Panels been off before, replaced window motor over year ago. Everything been completely fine. Got my windows tinted sunday morning. Installer said to leave car in sun to speed up the drying process. Car hasn't been moved. got something out of it this morning, fine. 5PM mother f***ing crack. Its the heat. Anyone got a source for replacement panel at good price? Need a panel for rear pass side where spare tire is also.

this happens on tons of f-body's, i have tried to repair one(taking it off, reinforcing it from the back, heated it up textured it and painted it) but it just broke again right away. the only way to "fix" it is to replace it

I'm not even going to screw around w/ trying to fix it. Even if i try to push the panels twards each other, i cant get the crack to disappear. there's 1/8" gap there and the panels are solid on the door, they dont move one bit.
I needed to take the damn thing off anyway. I forgot when i replaced my window motor that the metal bracket w/ the felt on it that the window slides against was broke. I dont want to screw up the freshly tinted windows.

Mine has one on each door in the same spot. I have seen many of these cars come through the shop in the last few years with this problem. I have had one or two where the outer door skin was delaminating from the door frame. This could be abuse though too causing the outer skin to de-lam.

I have this and always thought it was because this thing was in AZ and now TX. I'm chalking it up to temperature on bad plastic and moving on. Too bad we cant figure this out cause many many people's rides suffer from this syndrome.
